The IT Bar is designed as a self-sufficient backhouse on an existing single family property to house relatives or function as a rentable unit. At 37 feet in length the IT Bar will fit within a typical Los Angeles lot. The IT Bar can be accessed from each elevation making it adaptable to a range of site conditions and access directions. The design includes a roof-mounted solar PV system capable of supplying all of the energy needs for the house. Rainwater is collected using a rainwater harvesting barrel.
